BlurIt ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our mobile application and browser extension (collectively, the "Services").
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Images and Media
When you use BlurIt to edit images:
- Images you select or capture using the Services are processed locally on your device or in your browser memory
- Images are stored temporarily in local cache/memory for editing purposes
- Edited images are saved to your device only if you choose to save or copy them
- We do not upload, transmit, or store your images on our servers
- We do not access your images without your explicit action (selecting or capturing)
1.2 Purchase and Subscription Information
For Pro subscription purchases:
- We use Whop and RevenueCat to process purchases and manage subscriptions
- These services collect purchase info, including transaction IDs and status
- For the Browser Extension, we use Supabase for account-based Pro status synchronization
- We do not collect or store payment card information
- Purchase status is cached locally on your device for offline verification
1.3 Advertising Data
For free users, we show ads through Google AdMob:
- AdMob may collect device information, including device identifiers, IP address, and advertising ID
- AdMob uses this information to serve personalized ads and measure ad performance
- AdMob's data collection is governed by Google's Privacy Policy
- Pro users do not see ads, and no advertising data is collected for Pro users
1.4 App Usage Data
We store the following locally on your device:
- Pro subscription status (stored in AsyncStorage)
- Screenshot detection preferences (enabled/disabled)
- Ad display frequency and timing (for free users only)
- No usage analytics or telemetry data is sent to our servers
1.5 Screenshot Detection
If you enable screenshot detection:
- The App monitors your device's screenshot directory for new screenshots
- When a new screenshot is detected, you receive a local notification
- Screenshot detection runs only on your device and does not transmit data
- You can disable this feature at any time in Settings
2. How We Use Your Information
2.1 Image Processing
- Images are processed entirely on your device using native Android/iOS code
- Blur effects are applied locally - no image data leaves your device
- Processed images are saved only to your device's gallery if you choose to save them
2.2 Subscription Management
- Purchase information is used to verify and maintain your Pro subscription status
- Subscription status is checked through RevenueCat's servers to ensure validity
- Purchase data is used to restore your subscription if you reinstall the App
2.3 Advertising
- AdMob uses collected data to serve relevant ads to free users
- Ad frequency is capped (minimum 30 seconds between ads)
- Ads are shown only after natural break points (after blur operations complete)
3. Data Storage and Security
3.1 Local Storage
- All user preferences and settings are stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage
- Images are stored temporarily in the app's cache directory
- Cache files are automatically managed by the operating system
- You can clear app data at any time through your device settings
3.2 Third-Party Services
- RevenueCat: Stores purchase and subscription data on their secure servers. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy for details.
- Google AdMob: Collects advertising data as described in Google's Privacy Policy. Data is used for ad personalization and measurement.
- Google Play / Apple App Store: Handles payment processing. We do not receive payment card information.
3.3 Data Security
- All image processing occurs locally on your device
- No image data is transmitted over the network
- Purchase data is encrypted when transmitted to RevenueCat
- We follow industry-standard security practices for data protection
4. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We share data only in the following circumstances:
- RevenueCat: Purchase and subscription data is shared with RevenueCat for subscription management
- Google AdMob: Device and advertising data is shared with Google for ad serving (free users only)
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights
5. Your Rights and Choices
5.1 Image Control
- You control which images are processed - the App only accesses images you explicitly select or share
- You can delete edited images from your gallery at any time
- You can clear the app's cache through device settings
5.2 Subscription Management
- You can restore your Pro subscription at any time through the App's settings
- Subscription purchases are managed through your app store account
- You can cancel or manage your subscription through Google Play or Apple App Store settings
5.3 Advertising
- You can upgrade to Pro to remove all ads
- AdMob respects your device's advertising ID reset preferences
- You can opt out of personalized ads through your device settings
5.4 Screenshot Detection
- You can enable or disable screenshot detection in the App's settings
- When disabled, the App does not monitor your screenshot directory
6. Children's Privacy
BlurIt is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
7. International Data Transfers
Your data may be processed and stored in countries other than your country of residence. RevenueCat and Google AdMob operate globally and may transfer data to servers located in different countries. By using the App, you consent to such transfers.
8. Data Retention
- Images: Processed images are stored only on your device. We do not retain copies.
- Purchase Data: RevenueCat retains purchase data as required for subscription management and legal compliance
- Advertising Data: AdMob retains advertising data according to Google's data retention policies
- Local Settings: Stored on your device until you uninstall the App or clear app data
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
